Yemisir Watt - Red Lentils (Serves 4-6)

                               Ingredients: 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1-1/2 cups onion, chopped 1 tablespoon Berbere 1 tablespoon ginger, minced or grated fine 1-1/2 cups split red lentil, rinsed  4 cups water 1/2 tablespoon garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon cumin 2 tablespoons tomato paste (optional) - In a medium pot, cook onion in the oil until golden yellow. Add the berbere spice, ginger, lentils, and 1 cup of the water, stir to combine. Cook for 10-12 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon adding more water as needed. Roasting Fresh Ethiopian Coffee

Our fresh coffee beans found in our market are Authentic Ethiopian  Harrar or Yirgacheffeecoffee beans. Watch the YouTube video below to see how to roast your own coffee for an incredibly fresh pot of coffee. :) Check out 'Roating Fresh Ethiopian Coffee' on YouTube. Please not the video has been sped up for time purposes. But the whole process should only take about 15 minutes.  Start heat on high, in a pan with NO oil,  and once you hear cracking of the beans, turn the flame down to medium high. Keep turning the beans with a spoon until dark and smokey. :) Enjoy!
